ASIGNMENT CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVES
The Conseil Régional de Bourgogne, assisted by Atout France, wished to reflect on how local politicians could be given a tool to help them decide how to grant financial assistance to rural tourist lodging facilities. The study’s objectives were to pinpoint the particularities of properties located in rural areas (defined as the whole of the Burgundy region, excluding large cities) and the specific challenges faced by operators.
In Extenso TCH's tasks
- Panorama of Burgundy’s rural tourist lodging supply, compared against other regions
- Around 30 interviews conducted with local CCIs, tourist authorities, department councils, network heads (Logis, Gîtes de France, professional organisations, etc.), in order to understand their expectations
- Analysis of existing financial aid available in other regions and submission of strategic recommendations for discussion and debate to the Steering group: type of assistance to be put in place, criteria for receiving aid, managing the measure, other actions anticipated (accompaniment, training, etc.)
